TESSA Alan R. Moller Severe Weather Education & Research College Scholarship

I am pleased to announce the creation of the TESSA Alan R. Moller Severe Weather Education and Research College Scholarship in the amount of $500.

The scholarship will be awarded to the college or high school that sends the most students, staff and/or faculty to the National Storm Conference with a minimum of 10 attendees.

PRIMARY USE OF FUNDS
The winning college or high school will be announced at the conference. The scholarship amount will be available once an appointed school committee identifies and determines the student, or students, that (1) Possesses a GPA minimum of 3.0, and (2) Most exhibits a passion for, and commitment to, severe weather education and/or research. The school committee will determine if the scholarship will go to a single, or to multiple students. Typical recipients of the award include, but are not limited to, students interested in meteorology, engineering, safety, education, or weather broadcasting.
The college will submit the name, photo and brief bio of the winning student(s) for publication on the TESSA web site.

SECONDARY USE OF FUNDS
If the winning school is a high school, and a school committee determines it would rather use the funds for severe weather education within the school, then TESSA will award the scholarship amount to the school to purchase severe weather related learning materials and/or weather station, etc. The school must first present their proposal for a severe weather education effort to TESSA. Once the proposal is approved, the scholarship amount will be submitted to the school.

Please let me know if you would like to take part in this exciting opportunity prior to the conference. Note: Group count will include only persons that arrive together at the conference site no later than 9:00 am Central Time with valid student, staff and/or faculty ID. ID’s must be presented to the Conference Coordinator no later than 9:00 am Central Time on the date of the conference.

Groups are encouraged to wear their school colors and bring a banner or flag.

Contact your alma mater and organize a winning group!

The National Storm Conference is free and open to the public. Registration is not required.
